Yes, the Ritz-Carlton is a no-brainer – it’s the Ritz-Carlton – but this one is special. A glass marvel in the heart of Beijing’s vibrant Financial District, the 253-room Ritz is large, though not overwhelmingly so. The hotel has a range of rooms and suites, even the most modest of which are unsurprisingly luxurious.
The smallest rooms are a comfortably-sized 535 feet while the Ritz-Carlton Suite – the largest available – is a massive 2739 square feet. The latter, situated on the top floor, features three flat screen televisions, a kitchen, a library, a massive Capone-invoking dinner table, a sauna, and one of the best skyline views anywhere. Though, if you can’t afford top-of-the-line accommodations, the standard rooms are anything but typical. They all have LCD televisions, marble bathrooms, and WiFi/internet accessibility.
As for amenities, this Ritz features a huge onsite fitness centre and spa with eleven treatment rooms and a lap pool. Furthermore, like all Ritz-Carltons, the dining options are fantastic and include Cepe, a swank Italian boite, Qi, a well-appointed Chinese affair (this ain’t the Mandarin), and Greenfish, an all-day dining room. In the bar department, the hotel’s Crystal Bar is opulent beyond reproach. -NE
